Relating to authorization for the creation of a county ethics commission in certain counties and to authorizing counties to adopt a code of ethics for their commissioners courts.
No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
HB 1495 would allow Montgomery County to create a County Ethics Commission. It would also allow a certain commissioners court to adopt a code of ethics that provides standards of conduct for members of the commissioners court.
Texas Action remains neutral on HB 1495 as it does not affect our liberty principles.
