Bill Caption
Relating to the appointment of a bailiff by district courts and county courts at law in Bowie County.
Fiscal Notes
No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
Bill Analysis
Under current law, certain procedural requirements related to mandatory appointments and the deputization of bailiffs apply only to certain district courts. SB 2174 would expand the application of these provisions to include the 5th, 102nd, and 202nd district courts in Bowie County.
Vote Recommendation Notes
Given the procedural nature of this bill, SB 2174 neither uplifts nor offends our liberty principles, therefore we remain neutral.
