Bill Analysis

SB 115 would add to the Government Code that an agency within the executive or legislative branch of state government that receives more than $40 million from general revenue  and has more than 250 full-time employees, must broadcast over the internet live video and audio of each open meeting. The agency would have to archive the video and audio of the meeting as well.

Vote Recommendation Notes

This bill enhances our limited government principle by increasing the transparency of certain agencies through requiring them to broadcast open meetings. We support SB 115.
