Bill Analysis

HB 3492 would allow a county clerk or district clerk in Harris County to copy or record identifying information (but not biometric information) regarding an individual who presents a document or other instrument for filing or recording to the clerk or requests or obtains an ex officio service or other public service provided by the clerk.

This a mostly procedural bill regarding permissible actions by certain county and district clerks. We see no direct connection to our liberty principles and remain neutral.
