Bill Analysis
Under current law, a single bingo prize is prohibited from having a value over $750 and it is prohibited to offer more than $2,500 on a single bingo occasion, with a few exceptions. HB 1708 would make an exception of this rule for carryover pull-tab bingo, where there are multiple rounds and a jackpot, and would limit the value of the jackpot to $10,000.

The state of Texas regulates bingo very heavily. This legislation supports limited government by reducing regulations. We support HB 1708.
