Bill Caption

Relating to the transfer of certain state property from the Texas Department of Transportation to the Shepherd Independent School District; requiring the payment of certain transaction fees.

Fiscal Notes

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

Bill Analysis

This legislation would require TxDOT transfer certain real property to the Shepherd Independent School District for an amount to reimburse TxDOT's expenditures to acquire the property. However, if the school district would attempt to use the property for any other reason that doesn't directly benefit the public interest of the state, the district must pay TxDOT fair market value for the property.  Any monies received for this transaction would be deposited into the State Highway Fund.

Vote Recommendation Notes
