Bill Analysis

SB 2031 would amend code to add that if new graduate or professional program cannot comply with the requirement of publishing its admissions and competitive scholarship criteria at least one year before receiving applications because of prohibitions by an accrediting body, then the program is exempted from the one year requirement.  The program must publish the criteria as soon as possible.

Vote Recommendation Notes

This bill supports the principle of limited government, therefore we support this legislation. Discrepancy in law that causes conflict and makes it to be more difficult for individuals or organizations to comply with the law is not conducive to a fair and just limited government.  SB 2031 eliminates that issue for new graduate and professional programs.
