SB 2019 would update the composition of the Texas Violent Gang Task Force to reflect current government agencies’ representatives. The Youth Commission and the Texas Juvenile Probation Commission are currently defunct agencies that have been subsumed by the Juvenile Justice Department. The new composition of the Texas Violent Gang Task Force reflects this change.

This is an administrative bill to update the composition of the Texas Violent Gang Task Force. There is no substantive policy proposal here for us to make a liberty-connected vote recommendation on. We remain neutral on SB 2019, because it does not impact our liberty principles.
