Bill Analysis

This legislation would amend the Election Code and allow the Secretary of State to post certain materials related to the training of Deputy Voter Registrars to the website, to allow for the review of said materials for those interested in taking on this role. This legislation also would allow counties to administer the required examination to a potential volunteer deputy registrar at any time during the county voter registrar’s regular business hours.

Vote Recommendation Notes

We are neutral on this legislation. This legislation would allow anyone to take the Deputy Registrar test, if they go to the proper location, and all materials would be available online. Due to this not being weighted by any of our principles, we are neutral.
