to transferring to the Texas Workforce Commission certain duties of the
comptroller related to the Jobs and Education for Texans Grant Program.
Fiscal Notes
No significant fiscal implication anticipated.
Bill Analysis
SB 1351 would transfer the administration of the Jobs and Education for Texans Grant Program from the comptroller to the Texas Workforce Commission and makes the appropriate conforming changes in the code.
Vote Recommendation Notes
This is an administrative decision for the legislature, therefore we are remaining neutral on this bill. We would like to note, however that the administration of this program may be better placed in the hands of the Texas Workforce Commission since they are likely better equipped to oversee this type of program.
