Bill Analysis

SB 1020 would amend code to allow the account holder of an express trust to name the trustee as the beneficiary of a trust account or as a payee of a Payable on Death account (POD).

Vote Recommendation Notes

SB 1020 would give a POD account holder greater control over the disposition of their estate. This promotes the individual liberty and property rights of the account holder and supports limited government by removing an unnecessary government prohibition, therefore we support this legislation.
