Bill Caption
Urging Congress to propose and submit to the states for ratification the Parental Rights Amendment to the U.S. Constitution.
Fiscal Notes
There is no fiscal note for this resolution.
Bill Analysis
HCR 36 would urge the United States Congress to propose a Parental Rights amendment to the United States Constitution and submit the amendment to the states for ratification.
Vote Recommendation Notes
The right of parents to direct the upbringing of their children is important because strong families are the building blocks of strong and free societies. Strong support within the law for parental rights is an inherently good thing. Whether amending the United States Constitution is the best way to achieve this goal is a question on which we are neutral and as a result we are neutral on this resolution.
