Bill Analysis

The bill would amend provisions in the Transportation Code, specifically 504.303 sections b and c, relating to proof of eligibility for certain specialty license plates for retired members of the United States armed forces, Texas National Guard, and Texas State Guard.

Vote Recommendation Notes

This bill is substantively the same as when we reported on it in its original chamber. We continue to support this legislation.

We support this legislation as it promotes personal responsibility and concerns a specialty license plate that is already approved by the state of Texas. If a former member of the armed forces would like to have a license place that recognizes their service to the United States and Texas, it is only responsible they provide proof of their patriotism and duty to our country for which they seek recognition.
