Bill Analysis

SB 699 would require state higher education institutions to adopt a campus sexual assault policy and make the information available to students, faculty members, and staff members. The information would be posted on the website and entering freshmen would be required to attend an orientation. The policy would be reviewed each biennium and revised as necessary.

Texas Public Policy Action does not take policy positions on social issues, therefore we are neutral on this legislation. And since this legislation only relates to public institutions, it is not a clear violation of our liberty principles.
