Bill Analysis

HB 495 would extend dedication of funds from the Permanent Fund for Higher Education Nursing, Allied Health, and Other Health Related Programs (one of the trust funds established by the Texas Tobacco Lawsuit Settlement) to nursing education from the current expiration date of August 31, 2015 to August 31, 2019.

Vote Recommendation Notes

Extending the expiration date on this already-existing fund would not affect our liberty principles. We remain neutral.
