Bill Caption
Relating to the development and alignment by the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board of curricula for certain educational programs.
Fiscal Notes
There is no significant fiscal implication to State or local government.
Bill Analysis
HB 2628 would require the Texas
Higher Education Coordinating Board to periodically review each field of study
curriculum to ensure alignment with student interest, academic, and industry
needs. The bill would require THECB to establish program of study curricula for career and technical education. The bill would require that a
student enrolled in a THECB-established program of study who transfers to a similar institution with a similar program to receive academic credit for hours completed.
Vote Recommendation Notes
This bill would make mostly administrative,
clerical, or non-substantive updates to current code with no discernible
connection to our liberty principles, therefore we are neutral on HB 2628.
The second chamber sponsor is Senator Garcia.
