Bill Analysis

HB 2279 would require a law enforcement officer to complete a training program on techniques to facilitate interactions with children, adolescents, and teenagers with mental and behavioral health needs along with education and training on youth development and psychology.

Vote Recommendation Notes

As long as adding this additional education and training doesn't cost Texans substantially more money the provisions of HB 2279 should not be an issue. However, there is no connection between this bill and our liberty principles. We are neutral on this legislation.
