Bill Caption

Relating to the release of election judges' and clerks' contact information.

No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

Bill Analysis

This bill would make election judge or clerk's phone numbers and e-mail addresses confidential and not subject to the Texas Public Information Act. The contact information would still be provided to entities eligible to submit lists of election judges and clerks for that election.

Vote Recommendation Notes

While there may be some marginal benefit to the individual liberty of election judges and clerks, there may also be some marginal detriment to transparency in elections. Ultimately we remain neutral on HB 2160, as it does not significantly weigh in favor or against our liberty principles.
