Bill Caption
Relating to the authorization of independent school districts to use electronic means to notify parents of a student's academic performance.
Fiscal Notes
There is no significant fiscal implication to the State or local government. Districts may experience some cost savings by transmitting and storing
student performance notices and obtaining parent signatures
electronically instead of through printed materials.
Bill Analysis
HB 1993 would allow a school district that uses an electronic platform
for communicating student grades and performance information to allow
parents to sign required performance notices electronically.
Vote Recommendation Notes
This bill would make mostly administrative,
clerical, or non-substantive updates to current code with no discernible
connection to our liberty principles, therefore we are neutral on HB 1993.
