Bill Analysis

HB 1706 would amend Education Code to require the Commissioner of Education to eliminate any reports and paperwork required by state law that duplicate reports and paperwork required by federal law. The bill also requires a superintendent to ensure a copy of a report required by federal law is delivered to the Education Agency.

This bill affirms the principle of limited government by increasing efficiency and eliminating procedures that most likely waste time and resources. For this reason, we support HB 1706.
