HB 1446 would amend the chapter entitled the “Rights of Crime Victims” within the Code of Criminal Procedure to give the attorney general the authority to make payment for medical care for sexual assault victims.

HB 1446 would give crime victims more rights to be protected from the medical costs incurred due to a sexual assault. This provision would restore the individual liberty to victims who have potentially been assaulted. We support this bill for supporting liberty.
