Vote Recommendation Notes

5/25/2015 update:

This bill was not amended on the House floor or in the Senate committee. We continue to remain neutral on HB 1278.

The second chamber sponsor is Senator Eddie Lucio.

First chamber recommendation below:

We understand the lump sum payment should not remain stagnant over time considering adjustments in cost-of-living expenses and inflation. While we support the increase in lump sum payments to survivors of certain personnel killed in the line of duty, there is not enough evidence to determine an appropriate amount. Therefore we remain neutral on HB 1278.
