Bill Analysis

Summary: Current law requires the public sex offender registry to include the name and address of the employer of a sex offender.  SB 369 would remove that requirement and move the name and address of the employer to the nonpublic database utilized by law enforcement.

Analysis: SB 369 promotes personal responsibility by aiding an individual's reintegration into society after paying the debt and serving the time. Furthermore, this legislation would prevent an employer with no connection to the crime from being stigmatized for past crimes of its employees. We recommend voting YES on SB 369.
