Summary: SB 213 would implement recommendations made by the Sunset Advisory Commission for the Texas Department of Criminal Justice, Board of Pardons and Paroles, Windham School District, and the Correctional Managed Health Care Committee. Additionally, this bill would continue the Texas Department of Criminal Justice.

Analysis: Texas needs the criminal justice system to promote public safety. SB 213 contains recommendations from the Sunset Commission to help reduce recidivism rates and reduce incarceration costs. We recommend voting YES on SB 213.
