Bill Analysis

Summary: This legislation would allow Travis County, upon a majority vote of the State Cemetery Committee, to remove certain portions of land currently designated as State Cemetery Property if it is found that the land is no longer required for the purposes of the State Cemetery. Additionally it lowers the burial eligibility requirements relating to the number of years of service for an appointed state official to have served 10 years instead of 12.

Analysis: This legislation falls outside the purview of TPPA’s liberty principals; we are therefore neutral on the matter.
