Bill Analysis

Summary: SB 1756 would allow business owners to apply for an expedited permit process. Currently, companies must apply for permits as part of the Clean Air Act but the process can last so long that companies will avoid doing business in Texas because of the waiting period for these permits.

Analysis: SB 1756 would give private businesses a way to push the government to speed up the permitting process and allow the businesses to proceed. Government regulations that slow down private businesses hurt the entire state economy. We support SB 1756.
