Bill Analysis

Summary: SB 1672 would amend the Insurance Code to allow insurance companies and travel agents more options to provide travel insurance to consumers. Along with new options, the bill would add licensing and regulation.

Analysis: While this bill would open up a new travel insurance option to private insurers and travel retailers. This would allow a currently prohibited practice to be legal. However, in order to participate one would be placed under heavy regulation. For this reason, we are neutral on SB 1672.
