Bill Analysis

Summary of Legislation: This legislation subjects the board of trustees of the Employees Retirement System of Texas (ERS) to review by the Sunset Commission. The first review would be in 2015.  Subsequent reviews will be issued every 12th year.

Analysis: This legislation provides oversight that will help ensure transparency at the ERS and protect state assets and public securities.  We recommend legislators VOTE YES on HB 812.
