Bill Analysis

Summary: HB 694 would allow military personnel, with consent of an individual applying for enlistment, to access the applicant's juvenile record.

Analysis: Establishing the history of an individual applying for military duty is important. Under current law, a recruiter cannot access an enlistee's juvenile record even with consent. This legislation would enhance the individual liberty of those who wish to enlist in the military by allowing them to consent to a recruiter's review of their juvenile record. We support HB 694.
