Bill Analysis

Summary of Legislation: This legislation repeals provisions in the local government code regarding term limits for housing authority commissioners.

Analysis: This bill removes the term limit imposed upon a tenant commissioner on a housing authority. Currently, municipalities are required to have at least one tenant commissioner on their housing authority. Tenant commissioners are the only housing authority members to be subject to term limits. We support this bill because it provides equal treatment under the law for all classes of housing commissioners.
