Bill Analysis

Legislation:  This legislation would reduce the composition of the Texas Historical Commission from 17 members to 9 members. 

Notes: To the extent that this reduction in membership would help meetings reach quorum and reduce cost to the state in terms of reimbursements for travel, this legislation serves to modestly reduce the cost of government without inhibiting essential functions of government. We support HB 408.
