Summary: HB 3706 would allow the Texas Department of Agriculture to conduct a criminal background check on individuals considered to fill management or board positions within the Summer Food Service Program. Background checks are currently allowed for key personnel working with the Child and Adult Care Food Program.

Analysis: HB 3706 would represent a change in the administration of a state program. It does not represent an expansion of government or address any of our other liberty principles.
