Bill Analysis

Summary: HB 2696 would prohibit residential service companies from requiring the homeowner, lessor, or renter to provide a home inspection. The residential service companies would be prohibited from requiring payment for an inspection prior to entering a contract and declining it. Lastly, before the residential service companies enter into a contract, the residential service companies would have to specify what items are excluded from a claim as a result of the inspection.

Analysis: HB 2696 would burden businesses with additional regulation and interfere in the contractual agreements between the service provider and recipient. We oppose HB 2696.
