Bill Analysis

Summary: HB 2042 would amend law relating to the Chronic Kidney Disease Task Force to add five additional members to the task force, including a primary care physician and a certified nephrology nurse. HB 2042 also removes provisions relating to the task force’s expiration, but according to the Legislative Budget Board, the provisions of HB 2042 relating to this task force can be carried out within existing resources.

Analysis: HB 2042 would extend this task force indefinitely. If the state were to incur a cost for the continuation of this program, we would not support HB 2042. However, LBB asserts that the task force can be carried out within existing resources. TPPA is neutral on HB 2042 because it does not cost taxpayers.
