Bill Analysis

Summary: HB 178 would make “WaterSense” products, or those products certified under the WaterSense program operated by the United States Environmental Protection Agency, exempt from sales tax on Texas’ annual sales tax holiday for energy efficient products.

Analysis: HB 178 would both limit government and promote property rights by exempting these products from taxation for a limited amount of time. We support HB 178.
