Bill Analysis

Summary: This legislation mitigates the negative impact of unexpected utility cutoffs for persons residing in multi-tenant domiciles.  This legislation applies to nonsubmetered master metered multiple tenant dwellings.   

Analysis: This bill directs the customer “landlord” to provide written sufficient notice of looming disconnection, additionally the utility needs to tell the municipality of their intent to cut service to a multi-tenant domicile.  This bill protects health and safety for people whose electricity will be shut off.
