Bill Analysis

Summary: HB 1155 would suspend health insurance benefits for employees with an injury who are receiving Texas Worker's Compensation employee benefits if the individual does not have an examination with a designated doctor. The only exemption is if the individual has a good cause for not having an examination.

Analysis: This legislation would maintain employee responsibility to provide accurate information on injuries to the Texas Workforce Commission (TWC). As a result, it would provide transparency to ensure that taxpayer's funding is not distributed for unintended reasons. We support HB 1155.
